Is Free Market Capitalism inherently wasteful and unable to adapt to environmental change? Free Market Capitalism seems to be a "slash and burn" model, great at opening out new resources and exploiting natural resources and working people. However, as resources diminish - it's not just oil, metals, water and biological resources are going, it doesn't seem able to adapt. The old habit of pushing consumers into buying stuff they don't need (or at the start want) to fabulously enrich the few, seems to be inbuilt. Will we have to adapt the limited market approach of the Scandinavian countries, (which have some of the best standards of living in the world) in order to survive?
Is free market capitalism more controlling than socialism? With Socialism it's upfront you know what the government controls and what you get. In free market capitalism everyone seems to be promised the world but only lawyers and directors get the cream. You think you have choices but it yields more of the same...
Does Free Market Capitalism Only Work for the Richest 20% of Americans? If "free market" capitalism works best and America is its lead exponent, why then: -- is poverty high and rising in the world's richest country; -- incomes stagnating; -- higher education becoming unaffordable for the majority; -- public education crumbling; -- jobs at all levels disappearing to low-wage countries; -- the nation's vital infrastructure in a deplorable state; -- 3.5 million or more homeless and heading higher in the wake of subprime defaults; -- the standard of living of most in the country declining; and, -- the nation, in fact, bankrupt according to a 2006 study for the St. Louis Fed. In America, according to census figures, the share of national income going to the top 20 percent wage-earners rose from 44 percent to 50 percent from 1973 until present. In wealth, disparity in America is even greater, with the richest 1 percent controlling 38 percent of national wealth. The richest 20 percent of Americans own 85 percent of stock wealth. (2003) I didn't even mention healthcare... http://www.sicko-themovie.com/
If proponents of free market capitalism? Insist that the rich are rich because they are better people than the poor: ie they are more intelligent, more talentled, work harder, etc And the poor are poor because they are stupid, lazy, talentless, unmotivated etc. Then how does that explain that pointless lazy wasters like Paris Hilton, and ignorant talentless racists like Jade Goody are rich, whilst people like Mother Theresa, who helped many many people, are poor?
How do you reconcile Christianity and free-market Capitalism? Christianity's second commandment is to "love thy neighbor as thyself." I cannot reconcile this with a capitalistic system which needs competition against "thy neighbor" to succeed. Capitalism is cutthroat and Christianity is, for me, non-competitive. I think God wants us to have a hard time trying to reconcile these principles in our lives and in our budgets. Thus, I do not believe there is an easy answer to this question. To suggest otherwise is to either deny the true selflessness of Christianity or to deny the true selfishness of capitalism. The "live and let live" argument belies the true definition of both ideologies. Thoughts?
Capitalism..? I have just recently started learning about Capitalism in 19th Century Europe. I am very interested and want to learn as much as I can so I can really succeed in this topic. Can anyone tell me the basics on Capitalism, what it really is, how it affected society, and how people ran society in the 1800's? Thanks!
Does the American system of Free Market Capitalism? Only really work in America? Don't all countries that have tried it - end up rejecting it and going for sublte forms of socialism? Russia, Britain (after a lot of right wing stuff in the eighties) and Cuba too name a few. Why does it only work for americans? Is it because of a exceedingly high output of christian message and morality tales, that allows (or encourages) americans to ignore and moralise at all the deprivation..and 60 million poor people? Europe isn't right wing by any stretch of the american imagination. The french president would be labelled a extreme communist by Hillary if he ran in america. Stuff about how the minimum wage is equivilant to half the minimum wage in britain and how 33 million americans have to work six jobs.. http://observer.guardian.co.uk/world/story/0,,1712965,00.html
Which model India should adopt: social democracy like in Western Europe or free market capitalism like in US? Social democracy would be like that adopted in much of western Europe after WWII. In it some major industries of nation are controlled by the Government. A lot of major industries like healthcare etc are provided by government. An example of that would be like that of National Health Service in UK or the system in France, which is considered as the best in world ( yes it is better than that of US ). In free market capitalism, there is free market economy and everything is decided by supply and demand. Market controls everything and private companies play a huge part. Downsides of this can be that some of the important systems like healthcare get quite expensive, cant be afforded by everyone and people suffer because of that. While in social-democratic system, government finances everything, therefore there are not many funds available to invest a lot in research and development as is possible in free market capitalism. Please answer thoughtfully supported with reasons. Thanks.
If capitalism is so great and communism so awful why is Russia so far worse off under free market capitalism? no more free education no more health care average people begging on the streets of Moscow no pensions no more democratic chance for communist political parties not only Russia Bulgaria East Germany Rumania Chech Republic Georgia Vietnam increases in crime the only freedom capitalism gave people was the freedom to get pornography and other social ills capitalism destroyed the comfortable social structure many enjoyed and most people would like those aspects of communism back rather than the capitalist structure of masses of poor and a few elite rich people.
Does Wal-Mart provide a good example of free-market capitalism at work? The average Asian Wal-Mart factory worker lives on less than $700 a year. The average U.S. Wal-Mart sales employee makes $13,000.00 to $14,000.00 a year. Lee Scott, C.E.O. of Wal-Mart cleared a little less than $28,000,000.00 in 2005. Each of the five members of the Walton family (heirs to the Wal-Mart fortune) is worth about $18,000,000,000.00. Do you think these numbers represent perfectly acceptable corprorate business practices, or not?
Are Republicans hypocrits for championing Christian morals and free market capitalism? The two seem contradictory to me. Free market capitalism relies on the Seven Deadly Sins, such as Greed, Gluttony, and Envy, to motivate the work force. Socialism seems like a more Christian system, because it relies on the Golden Rule as a motivation factor for the work force. Yet Republicans deride socialism, claiming it is the ideal of secularists. It sounds like Republicans are being hypocritical by claiming to have high Christian morals but not applying those morals in their economic philosophy. What is your opinion? Some good answers so far. I've noticed a lot of people that disagree with my observation are using the consumer's point of view where as I was looking at things from the point of view of the worker, which is interesting. I'm a little disappointed by some of the anti-socialism answers. Those people don't seem to understand how socialism works; they are regurgitating some conservative talking points against socialism and seem to be confusing socialism with full blown communism. I'd also like to caution those that question my intelligence. Just because my point of view is not in line with yours does not mean I'm stupid or easily impressed upon by liberal profs. I have a BS in Math, SAT score of 1410, ACT score of 34, and came upon this observation purely on my own. For Eyota Xin, I think you may have misunderstood my question. For Home-School, theft is not a "deadly" sin. The Seven Deadly Sins are Greed, Gluttony, Sloth, Wrath, Lust, Envy, and Vanity.
What is the difference between industrial and merchant capitalism? From what I understand, capitalism is investing in goods in order to make a profit. So merchant capitalism would be where people invest at a small-scale level, meaning normal houses or workshops, not full blown out factories. So the main difference between the two is one has factories one does not. Is that it?
If fascism = the merging of state and corporation, is that closer to socialism or free market capitalism? Mussolini originally said that fascism is the merging of state and corporation. Socialists love to quote it to prove that fascism = capitalism. I just wonder if they can apply any additional logic to it. Corporations represent free market because no one is forcing the employees to work or customers to buy their stuff. Communist countries force their people to work because with wealth redistribution there is no incentive otherwise.
is there really such a thing as the free market capitalism? free? " In reality, the U.S. economy functions as a form of socialism for the rich. Taxpayers have bailed out the savings and loan industry, banks and airlines. We finance at least two federal social security programs: the one to which most of us contribute through each paycheck, and the one for United Airlines employees (since that company no longer pays its pension obligations). We give huge government contracts to the prison and military industrial complexes, and increasingly to private education and health care companies. http://www.alternet.org/story/92426/the_u.s._economy_is_socialism_for_the_rich/?page=entire
Is business and the free market system sustainable? I am not a communist- I am pretty much pro free market capitalism (but not unrestrained capitalism). But I do wonder- the world's resources are finite (limited) and the world's population is constantly growing. It seems inevitable that the world will reach a population where resources become quite limited relative to the population. Currently, capitalism is viable because resources are (still) plentiful relative to the population, and people are able to acquire great amounts of wealth by providing a professional service, becoming a great athelete/entertainer, developing a useful product, or through strategic asset allocation and investments. But since resources are limited and the population is ever growing, it seems that mankind will reach a point where the current distribution of wealth will not be possible for even all the qualified and able people. Will this point come? And if so, will a new plan for redistribution of wealth and perhaps population control be necessary
Why has country music become so pro-free market capitalism and super nationalist today? Country and folk music used to be about the working man and organizing labour unions for the working class. Now its all about ultra-nationalism and hating on liberals. It mocks the idea of unions! Whats going on?! Woody Guthrie, Johnny Cash, Towns Van Zandt would all roll over in their graves if they heard all of the crazy stuff coming out of Nashville these days. What is up with the whole Republican Pro-Corporate love the Country singers have these days?
Thank God for the free market system & unbridled Capitalism? Are you ashamed this could happen in America? Kinda makes you want to say thank-you Conservatives for both unbridled Capitalism and your vision of what America could be if only the wealthy/business interests ran the USA.! Tent city in suburbs is cost of home crisis By Dana Ford Fri Dec 21, 8:18 AM ET http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20071221/lf_nm/usa_housing_social_dc Between railroad tracks and beneath the roar of departing planes sits "tent city," a terminus for homeless people. It is not, as might be expected, in a blighted city center, but in the once-booming suburbia of Southern California. As more families throw in the towel and head to foreclosure here and across the nation, the social costs of collapse are adding up in the form of higher rates of homelessness, crime and even disease. While no current residents claim to be victims of foreclosure, all agree that tent city is a symptom of the wider economic downturn. And it's just a matter of time before foreclosed famil Happy Holidays & a great big thank-you to the religious Conservatives for making this a wonderful Christmas for so many!
Capitalism=Mercantilism or Capitalism=Free Market? I've had many discussions on the topic, according to what I've read true capitalism is free market economy, but people tend to think that capitalism is what the U.S.A. follows for example, by protecting certain industries that are not competitive which to me is a mercantilist practice and not a free market one.
Isn’t the beloved PURITY of the “free”-market kind of capitalism actually an homage to? constant admonishing ideal PURITY of the “free”-market kind of capitalism actually an homage to ANARCHY and really quite the OPPOSITE of a genuine fiscal-conservativism? I mean isn’t financial/conservatism really supposed to be about exercising sensible studious restraint in all things concerning money, resources, etc ? I mean like why is it that /American/ conservatism in particular, wants to control everyone’s life in the social dimension these past few decades, and when it comes to money, influence on businesses, etc – dimension everything is three sheets to the wind… let havoc must roam about freely. Screw the planet, but when it comes to economy the beast must set itself right magically. The “natural” balance must be preserved. Why don’t I see anything “natural order” looking into this kind of extreme market purity philosophy at all. It’s damn lazy if you ask me. Am I somehow just not looking hard enough? Capitalism / God ? Well at least that much makes sense. People love to hurredly scamper half-frenzied into obscure endless circles whenever you invite them to "speak economics". :-) ACTUALLY, I'm still reading. I think I can see the point's made. It's hard for me to follow much "economy" detail all at once. I have to try to read that kind of stuff slowly. also, perhaps I really mean "free"-ENTERPRISE and not exactly "free market". I don't know.
Should capitalism and the free market be regulated for moral and ethical behaviour? I think it should. Capitalism encourages hard work but it also encourages deceipt, deception, lies, corruption, exploitation, abuse of power, ruthlessness, calousness, inconsideration, narrow-mindedness (nothing matters except profit for those who are already excessively rich), etc.
What is the best way to spread democratic capitalism throughout the world? Although the republican democracy system of government is far from perfect, it is by the the BEST type of government in the world. Additionally, capitalism, because it allows man to profit trough his competitive spirit, is the BEST economic process. Allowing everyone in the world the opportunity to participate in these systems would be the best way to reduce poverty worldwide.
Capitalism vs free markets? Is there a distinction between free markets and capitalism? How are they different, or are they exactly the same?
What are the drawbacks to a form of capitalism built on profit sharing? I'm of the opinion that the distribution of wealth in this country is top heavy. 1% of the population controls approximately 90% of the wealth! A lot of this disparity comes from the fact that people work hard for low pay. The owners or stockholders get to keep most of the wealth generated from these peoples' work. What if you were to pass legislation that required businesses to not only pay salaries, but also to share profits. The business owners and stockholders would still get a share of the profits, but now the workers would too. This would certainly inspire workers to try to help the business to work better. I am considering starting a business for the sole purpose of leading by example. To me this could be a revolution of a more socialist form of capitalism. It compromises away the weaknesses of capitalism and socialism and sort of puts their strengths together. Is our society too much of an oligarchy for such a thing to even happen? Comments? Suggestions? I wish you had cited a source for your distribution of wealth numbers. Can't find distribution stats, US is 92nd most equal wealth country according to Gini coefficient.(wikipedia) The wealth is still largely controlled by a small group of people. I am not asking this question for selfish reasons. I am a mechanical engineering student who is about to graduate and should make somewhere around 45-50k per year. I'm going to do fine. I just look at minimum wage workers and see them working much harder than the wealthy and I see it as an injustice. In this country simply having money is a talent. The owner of a restaurant doesn't really work very hard but he makes more from his employees than they do. Profit sharing does not reduce the desire to own a business siginficantly. They would still be the upper class. I'm still looking for drawbacks. Are there any economists out there? Any examples of this type of thing failing? Please criticize the idea and not me.
What is the point of democracy and capitalism? I don't mean to define capitalism. I want to know what the ultimate goal is. What is democracy trying to acheive? What is the reason for us to live this way? Are we seeking a utopian society where everything is good and there is no wrong? No, no. You people are just defining capitalism and democracy. What I am asking is what are the goals? What is the american way of life seeking? What is the purpose of all the technology we have lavishly created and surrounded ourselves with? In 100 years, what do we want to have accomplished? Does anyone think there is a greater good for all this tech? Or are we just advancing so our lifes become easier and easier?
What are some of the negative aspects of Capitalism? I'm looking for answers besides health care and insurance. I am a Democrat, but it seems to me that there are a lot of advantages to capitalism, such as competition. I realize there are wrongs in Free Enterprise, but what can be done to fix them?
How can I download the full version of capitalism? I purchased Capitalism 1 from target a couple years ago. I really enjoyed it. However I have lost it. Under copyright rules, I still own the right to use this game since I have not sold it and have not given it away. My problem is this....how can I download another copy of this program? It is an older game and I cannot find it anywhere. I have even tried downloading from limewire but have had no success. Does anyone have any ideas?
What is the new argument to defend Capitalism? It used to be that by making a minority incedibly wealthy, the wealth and opportunities will filter down to the majority...This was the only defence..or aguement for having a capitalist economy. But now when we have so many people coming here and are - being allowed to take all the wealth and opportunity of the poor, and also capitalism is off to china - so what is the new argument for defending western capitalism? Tap Tap...so still waiting.. gvih2g2...you are using old arguements, to defend what is becoming essentially a eastern idiology, and not a western one. I am sure the most "efficient" and "cost effective way" of doing things envolves child slaves being whipped half to death.. Zak I only want to know the new pro capitalist arguments..and to see if they are as rediculous as what I think they are. Paul - So the only arguemnt to defend capitalism is because there is nothing better than having 60 million americans and 30 million brits live in poverty just to get the thing to work?
Is it possible to send some new ideas to Bill Gates with reference to his Creative Capitalism? Bill Gates idea of Creative Capitalism is what the world requires today. What is required to be done may differ from country to country and from place to place. Let us take a poor village which has not been electrified. With some philanthropic money it is possible (with the help of cycle generators and LEDs) to not only light up homes with human energy (which goes abegging) but also provide the much required employment to the unemployed.
How does an individual fight capitalism? Capitalism in evil, fact. But how does one man strike a blow for justice. I buy Fair trade coffeee, I refuse to eat at MacDonalds. What are the best ways to achieve a positive change? To clarify Capitalism is all about the concentration of wealth in the hands of a few, who then exploit a disenfranhcised majority to increase the wealth of the few. Fair trade is ANTI-Capitalist. So answer my question.
I think Governments need to have a mix of socialism and capitalism? I think Governments need to have a mix of socialism and capitalism. But i think it should be gradual thing so we can find a good balance between the too. Socialism is needed to keep the corporations in place so they don't start controlling our governments and Capitalism is needed to keep incentive and individualism. What your opinion?
How well has unbridled capitalism and global war done for America the last 8 years? You'd think America was never better the way people spread fear about socialism and peace. It's time to face facts. Capitalism has failed. More people are working harder for less, while the rich make out like bandits. Empire has failed. People refuse to sacrifice their lives for a lie. Wow. No stock market. Big deal. A capitalist did not invent any medicine. A scientist did. Let's take the money away from the capitalists and give it to the scientists. Don't worry about me. I have rent control and a union job.
How can the purpose of capitalism be these two things at once? How can you have a 'tide that raises all boats' and keep inflation down at the same time? If everyone who is making 20k a year suddenly made 30k a year, there would be inflation. If there is low inflation, it means that demand is stable, that no one is becoming capable of purchasing more, which means that class is stable and that there is no social mobility. Then the question this leads to, how can Capitalism claim to be about what's best for anyone besides the upper classes? Why does anyone believe in something like 'trickle down' theory? Isn't it really 'crumbs from the table to ensure the fortunes of the wealthy?' And if social mobility is on the decrease and the wealthy are rigging society for themselves, why aren't more people angry? Is it just that America is intellectually decadent and thus incapable of understanding what is happening to them, or do people not mind because of some other reason? I can't pick any of the current answers as the best answer, I don't think any of them answer my questions and all of them contain at least one idea that I think is outright incorrect. The basis of this question, is why isn't it plainly stated that Capitalism has nothing to do with a 'rising tide'? Larry's accusation of my intellectual decadence, is interesting, but I think it is he that is missing the connection between inflation and class issues. Inflation is then just what the head capitalists call it when growth occurs too fast, when it's at a rate that doesn't threaten to expand demand too much that there are shortages and major price fluxuations. (so no social mobility for you!) And I'm not the one who is confusing trickle down with capitalism, it is the capitalists themselves, the most powerful and successful ones, who foist this obvious bs on the public. I am not about to see neo-cons as non-capitalist, they are it's culmination. correction, subtracting a doesn't: "Inflation is then just what the head capitalists call it when growth occurs too fast, when it's at a rate that threatens to expand demand too much that there are shortages and major price fluxuations." In other words, as long as it's slow growth it's growth, but if it's a fast growth, it's inflation. Meaning that the money supply only can allow a handful of lower class people to move into the true middle class, a handful of middle class people move into the upper class, and like 5 people become millionaires to replace the 10 millionaires who died. And then social mobility is almost non-existant in america, and social mobility is one of the main reasons this place was built in the first place. You are in a caste, just like in china or india, you will be looked down on by the aristocracy all your life, you will be chided if you try to escape the bounds of your station, your natural place in the order of things, which is out of your control.
How can we bring some morality back to US capitalism? I believe in capitalism, but i don't think our current state of capitalism is what Adam Smith wrote about. We have lost our moral center. I am mainly speaking about credit card companies and car dealerships, handing out credit like it's free candy. If we don't want a communist revolution, and trust me, we don't... shouldn't we stop making the idea so attractive to so many decent, honest, all-be it naive american familes who are being ruined by predatory lending?
Has Capitalism favored or benefited the poor in any way? I'm in Economics and am currently just wondering if there really are any advantages for the poor under a Capitalistic society. They're always under competition - so I'm just plain wondering. What do you guys think? What are the ways the poor benefit from Capitalism.
Why is capitalism good for the poor? I don't care about your opinion on whither or not it is (I have to answer this question in my debate whether I agree or not). I want to know why it is and where I can find sources that explain this. So, why is capitalism good for the poor?
how do you explain capitalism to a kid ? okay well i'm not really a kid, but i'm having trouble understanding capitalism. i've been researching on the net for a short and simple definition, but can't seem to find one. thanks.
Capitalism-Cannibalism their is not enough money to go around what are your thoughts? If we are expected to keep a country going solely on what people make and what they are willing to spend then we are in a very sad shape indeed. Considering the vast majority of this country that is not counted has to work three jobs to make just the minumum to get by. Also the number of jobs availiable to the number of people looking for jobs and are actually unemployed is way out of whack. For every dollar a person has their are thousands of scams to separate them from that one dollar. So where does it stop? Do you think this ultra-capitalism will eventually kill our society? What are your thoughts?
What do you think about capitalism and communism? What's your opinion about these two? And, please, don't go saying "capitalism/communism sucks" without justifying... I believe that both have their advantages and their disadvantages... Like, I like the idea of everybody as equals, but I also like the fact of so many non-statable companies existing. On the other hand, being equal to other people is more suitable for poor people than rich ones, and the competition between companies is also destroying our planet (like the deforestation and stuff)... What's your point of viw??..
Can you answer this question about capitalism and socialism? I need help on this question: Choose a current economic issue or policy measure and then contrast the way a proponent of capitalism would discuss it versus how a proponent of socialism would discuss it. Can you answer this question? Deerite... I do my own homework. I only asked this question to get peoples' opinions. I already have the answer. I saw it in the news just this very moment. But anyway, I want to see your answers because I'm now curious of what you guys think.
Does capitalism promote better life for everyone? I've heard it mentioned that capitalism leads to better economic conditions for all classes in society. Is this true? Or does capitalism favor the rich and wealthy landowners/businessman? Does every man acting for the improvement of his own lot in life, eventually lead to the enrichment of everyone's lives? Does capitalism favor better working conditions? Do capitalists favor 100% employment? What's the alternative to capitalism? How is it any better?
Which of the following statements correctly distinguishes capitalism from socialism? a. in capitalism, what to produce, is determined by consumer demand; in socialism by free market forces b. in capitalism, how to produce, is determined by business people's desire to a much greater degree by government c. there is more freedom of enterprise in socialsim than in capitalism d. capitalism still exists while socialism does not exist in any form anywhere.
How does a Christian justify Capitalism? Capitalism, being based on investment and profit, seems to be antithetical to the socialist values by which Christ lived. Who has written about how this is reconciled? Where can I find debate and discussion about how much profit Jesus would have deemed acceptable and worthy in his Father's eyes to get into the Kingdom of Heaven?
According to Communist Manifesto, will capitalism ever be overthrown? Marx predicted during his time that by now capitalism would have been abolished, along with private property and inheritance; in place of a classless and stateless system with free education for all. He encoureaged the working class to unite in a communistic revolution of overthrowing the bourgeoisie, yet it has not fully occured. Why not?
Why would anyone who believes in capitalism oppose open borders? If you believe in capitalism, you believe that market forces, not the government, should control the economy. Market forces drive immigration. People come to this country to sell the one thing they can sell--their labor. They're simply behaving the way anyone behaves in a rational free market economy. Employers who hire immigrants are doing exactly the same thing--they are looking to pay as little as possible for labor, and immigrant labor tends to be cheaper. Aren't attempts to close the borders nothing more than further efforts by our government to interfere with free markets? Please note that "open borders" by definition means that no one would be "illegal" (and of course it would mean that everyone would pay taxes). Jonny Sokko--Please note that under current law (section 7701(b) of the tax code), any person in the U.S. for 183 days or more during a calendar year is liable for taxes, whether a citizen or not. I admit that many illegals don't pay taxes and that they should (assuming we have taxes). But if the borders were open, they wouldn't be illegals anyway, and they would have less incentive to fly under the legal radar screen of taxation. Aegis of Freedom: That's a reasonable arguement, but if you look at some of the answers above, it appears pretty clear that some people really DO want to close the borders altogether (at least to "lazy" and "stinking" Mexicans). The Dude: What can you mean by distinguishing between people who "belong" here and those who don't, when, as a capitalist, the only thing you would want to determine who does or does not "belong" is whether the market finds a place for them? Kind of begs the question, right? And Johnny Sokko--I wasn't aware that slavery had again become legal in the United States. When was the 13th Amendment to the Constitution repealed? John Boy: Yes, that's exactly what I'm saying. Legal immigrants would pay taxes, the same way your grandparents and mine, who were likely also immigrants, started paying taxes. That hardly seems like a far fetched concept, UNLESS you believe that the current wave of immigrants is inherently less law-abiding than your forefathers. But face it, John Boy: Everything you are now saying about those evil, raping, terrorist immigrants was also said about your ancestors. And yet somehow you turned out all right (I think). But what about capitalism, Johnny? If you believe in it, you believe that the government should stay out of the markets. Your whole response has neglected my central point from the get-go.
Is unregulated capitalism a moral or ethical social system? Capitalism is blamed for exploitation, environmental destruction, cut-throat competition, sweatshops, child labor, price gouging and the rising cost of education. Laissez faire philosophies have never worked and have cause numerous recessions and depressions.
Is socialism or capitalism better in a government? I have been wondering and been doing quite a lot of research on socialsm and capitalism, and I am trying to determine about which is better for the government. I don't have a broad view on the subject, so I am considering asking about which type of philosophy is better.
